A Vision of the Future of Rehabilitation & Performance
I was having a conversation with a couple I had just met. They were telling me about their nephew who had torn his ACL in high school and subsequently tore it again. He then quit soccer permanently.
I was immediately saddened and frustrated that this happened to this young man. Now I certainly don't know the circumstances of the retear, but I would be willing to bet that he didn't have rigorous return to sport and discharge testing. I recently finished with one of my patients after ACL reconstruction. I told the patient and his parents that while I couldn't guarantee that he wouldn't tear his ACL again, I could assure them that we did everything possible for it not to happen again.
I use rehab guidelines and checklists to ensure the best possible outcomes for my patients. By doing so, I attempt to fulfill my mission.
It is a mission to build the future of rehabilitation and performance together. Imagine a future where every person receives rehabilitation and performance services with systematic and objective criteria to maximize their potential. A future where return to sport and discharge checklists are used routinely.
Of course, there are challenges: insurance limitations, patient compliance, and even some physicians who may not prioritize these methods. However, the potential benefits for our athletes are undeniable.
I believe that by working together, we can overcome these obstacles. I use rehab guidelines and checklists to ensure the best possible outcomes for my patients. Want to be sure you have them at your fingertips? You can find them in your free Huddle Resources.
