Group Testing Buy-In
One of the most difficult things to do is get buy-in into your pre-participation physical testing or your group testing or performance testing. I think it's probably what we face the most, and particularly getting coaches to buy in.
One of the things that I heard this spring training that I absolutely love, and I consider this to be a great pro tip, is have your skill coaches scribe for your movement testing. So, for example, if you're in baseball and you're doing a top tier SFMA with your player, have your hitting coach there marking and scribing down, functional dysfunctional, non-painful, all of these types of things. And maybe some notes on it, what you're seeing. And then they get to see it, and then they get to see maybe you break that out, or maybe that's all they see.
And they look at it and say, "Oh, wow. What we see is that rotation is limited. No wonder they can't get their hips through. That's a problem. Can you address that?" Boom, we've got immediate buy in.
